That's me!

Hello!
I’m Micah Chu (aka mouze), a queer Chinese-Indigenous artist, hopeless romantic, and arts educator. I’ve spent the past five years leading visual arts and storytelling programs across schools and community spaces, with a focus on youth empowerment, accessibility, and creative self-expression. I currently facilitate with VIBE Arts, JAYU, Story Planet, and Centauri Arts Academy—organizations that bring free and meaningful arts experiences to young people across Toronto and the GTA. I’ve also led workshops in partnership with Toronto Metropolitan University, the AIDS Committee of Toronto, and other grassroots and institutional partners.
My approach is rooted in community care and peer support, creating spaces where participants feel seen, celebrated, and inspired. Outside of facilitation, my own practice centers on textile collage, a mix of quilting and thrifting born from a love of fabric and sustainability. I also have a background in writing and arts organizing, with experience working with TIFF, the Toronto Fringe Festival, TCAF, and Intermission Magazine.
